Research of Power

Lean's artwork explores the concept of power, focusing specifically on the inverse relation between the increasing capacity to manipulate nature and the decreasing capacity to experience an authentic proximity to nature. An idealised and consumed state of a micro-managed population is broadly conceived; we have the ‘Power’ to turn people ‘On’ or ‘Off’ as we please. The ‘Power’ button forms part of a new landscape, increasing aestheticisation of such technological objects that also form the life and death of ‘mother-board’ earth.
